School Construction Support Project
It is an activity to support the construction of schools in cooperation with the Japan UNICEF Association, governments of various countries (public goods) so that children can receive basic education in the Asian region where educational facilities are insufficient. In addition, we donate matching funds to the funds cooperated by the entire nation and support not only construction of the school building but also soft side such as teacher training.
Activities in ASEAN Countries
Vietnam
In Vietnam, the project has assisted in building 30 primary schools in Hue Province providing educational opportunities for more than 15,000 Vietnamese children.
Cambodia
In Cambodia, the project assisted in building 149 primary schools in Kampong Thom Province, Prey Veng Province, Kampong Speu Province, Stung Treng Province, and Siem Reap Province providing educational opportunities for more than 200,000 Cambodian children.
Myanmar
In Myanmar, the project has assisted in building 35 primary schools from 2012 in Yangon Region, Mon State, and Karen State, providing educational opportunities for more than 5,000 Burmese children.
Laos
In Laos, the project has assisted in building 122 primary schools from 2007 to 2009 in Louangphabang Province, Xiangkhouang Province, and Savannakhét Province, providing educational opportunities for more than 30,000 Laotian children.
