The AEON 1% Club Foundation held Asia Youth Leaders 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia, for six days from 19th to 24th August, 2018.
The Asia Youth Leaders program, which has launched in 2010, is held with the purpose of enabling high school students from Asian countries to develop their problem-solving abilities and capabilities for spontaneous action. The theme of “Food and Health” was established for the three years of 2017 to 2019, and this year was the second year of this theme, gathered 85 students from six nations: Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and China, in Jakarta.

They attended lectures from experts on the topic of “Indonesian Food”, experienced hands-on learning, and intensified their study through group discussions and other activities. At the Results Presentation on the final day, students proposed the solution strategies they have derived through the program, and passed these on to the Indonesian students.
The leader of team which was given 1st prize on their final presentation said, "Even though each team member has a different background, we tried to summarize all ideas throughout the discussion for final presentation.
Everyone who participated in this program should use this experience and share it with those who did not participate when returning to their own school.".
